Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you all safe and healthy with the holiday season right around the corner! As we move closer to the end of the 1st semester of school I wanted to reach out with an important update and informational items.
I am extremely pleased to announce, for those who choose it, our blended in-person model of instruction is scheduled to begin at both SAGS and SACHS on January 5, 2021. We are so excited to see the “masked” smiling faces of all of our kiddos once again!!! Please remember, as always, we will continue to monitor our local and regional data and if any changes are needed I will be sure to share that as it becomes available.
As we prepare to return to our blended model, everyone must continue to be vigilant in following appropriate safety protocols. If your child is showing any signs that are commonly associated with the COVID-19 virus, please keep him/her home and consider following up with your primary care physician.
We will continue to follow the recommendations of the IDPH, concerning the quarantine of students and staff who have or may have had close contact with a COVD-19 positive individual. Therefore, if any individual within your home becomes symptomatic or tests positive for COVID-19, we ask that all students within the home quarantine until they are cleared to return to school safely.
If you and your family have traveled outside of the country during the break, please refer to the Illinois Department of Public Health website for guidance and recommendations for travel and return to school. During this quarantine period, your child should begin the semester on remote learning. As we begin the third quarter, if your child is currently a full-time remote learner and you would like to switch them to our blended in-person model, please contact your child’s school office as soon as possible. The SAGS office number is 815-427-8153. The SACHS office is 815-427-8141.
As I have said earlier, our plan is to be back on January 5, 2021. We will continue to monitor both local and regional data as well as our ability to staff the building, and if there are any needed changes or adjustments we will be sure to notify our families accordingly. Hopefully, that won’t be necessary and we can start to put 2020 behind us!
Finally, your positive correspondence and continued support have been greatly appreciated. All of our parents, staff, administration, and students have worked together to support the vision of educating our kids even during these unprecedented times. Yes, there have been challenges, but that collaborative approach has allowed us to serve our students through the first semester.
I am so proud of everyone associated with both St. Anne School Districts as well as our families, students, and communities as a whole! You all have come together and supported one another and have made these trying times a little easier. Your determination and resilience have been incredible to watch and reminds me of how fortunate I am to work here.
